Very nice vintage Chinese cloisonne brass plate. Circa 1970s.The lovely plate is made of solid brass and is covered with hand crafted cloisonne design.The background is covered with black enamel cloud design. In the centre is stylised blue chrysanthemum. The back of the plate is covered with teal blue enamel.Cloisonne is made by soldering tiny brass wire design on an object. Coloured enamel is applied layer at time to the design. Each layer has to be fired before another layer can be added. Sometimes it takes over 100 layers to complete design.In excellent vintage condition.Diameter: 10.5 cmThe battery is there for size comparison only.
