“Historic early ship's deck clock by Seth Thomas. This 6 inch clock is a double wind movement which provided days of timekeeping. There are screw holes on the back of the case which permit attachment to a wall. Everything about this clock appears to be original, from hands to the case to the glass and dial. The clock runs consistently, although it does lose minutes over a 24 hour period. This MAY be corrected by using the lever at 12 o'clock, but we are not certain of this. We date this clock as likely early 20th century. The hands are held on by pins and not nuts or other later methods of attaching them. The patina on the case and the slight greening of the dial are consistent with age. Hands have paint wear. No major dents or large scratches. A truly fine piece. Clock has overall diameter of 6 7/8''. Clock face has a diameter of 6'' and is 3 1/4'' deep, clock weighs 4 lbs 2 oz.”
