This is very attractive wooden box with hinged back edge that opens to reveal scooped interior. This is ideal for keeping very small items such as earrings or other jewellery or other keepsakes. Makes very good gift box in its own right as well. This comes from an antique clearance and believe this dates to the 1920s or 1930s with provenance in either Germany, Switzerland or Austria. This shows simply carved wooden flowers to the lid, while the underside shows smooth curving sweep which demonstrates an alternative wood skill to the carving. Very good Folk Art piece which is good for personal use or simply in the home.
