“The chest was made in Yugoslavia (Eastern Europe) during the 1960's, and is made of solid birch veneered with white oak. There are 4 drawers, each with 2 wooden pulls, and the dresser sits on 4, round, tapered legs with metal caps. There is a dark stain on the top, which looks like it was created by some liquid, which spilled from a cup (see photo). Depending upon what you are planning on placing on top of the dresser (i.e. cloth/doily, picture frames, lamp, etc.) the stain could be covered. If you plan on painting the dresser, the stain will be hidden, and you could refinish the top only to remove the stain. There are also 3 bigger chips that we've found (see last photo), as well as the typical nicks, scratches, and spots of worn finish here and there--typical wear for old, used furniture. Aside from these cosmetic blemishes, the piece is in excellent, structural condition. It is strong and sturdy, and is ready for a lifetime or service! Dimensions
