Stunning  antique Japanese lacquered wooden treasure box. Circa late 1800s.The beautiful box has hand painted scene of birds and flowers on the lid. It is painted in red and decorated in gold.The box is lacquered in black but painted deep red on the sides.It is hard to find Japanese boxes in wood nowadays. Most lacquer boxes are made of plastic now.There is some normal wear and tear for box over one hundred years old. The hinges on the back has become undone which can easily be fixed with couple of small nails. Otherwise nothing missing and considered in excellent condition.Measurement: 30.5 cm 10.5 cm cmThe battery is there for size comparison only.
