On offer is the small (190mm 130mm 128 pages) cloth bound book "Chalmers of Papua". This is  1945 reprint of the 1930 printed book by Ernest Hayes. It sets out the life and experiences in New Guinea of the missionary James Chalmers who was killed and eaten by the Goaribari natives of the Papuan Gulf in 1901. The information was taken from his autobiography and Mission records to give an accurate picture. It is an interesting story with many mentions of his contacts with cannibals, skulls, natives and his experiences with them.
