RARE & EXCEPTIONAL ANTIQUE VINTAGE VICTORIAN SILVERPLATE GOLFER FIGURAL INKWELL A 19th century Sheffield silver plated inkwell stand.
The stand comprises two ink bottles with silver plated hinged lids, an oblong flat stand with two holes for the inkwells to sit in and pair of 'holders' to act as pen rest. To the centre of the stand is gentleman if full golfing attire addressing golf ball with club inhand. The gentleman has his back to tree
The stand is decorated with engraved flowers and vines and has decorated edge and scroll feet.
The stand has the maker's mark underneath "James Deakin & Sons of Sheffield 8252" The firm was established in 1865 at the Sidney works in Sheffield, England.
The plating is in very good condition and the inkwells look unused. (Circa 1880)
