Beautiful, Japanesque design cuff bracelet from the end of 1800s. This is unique design, with a crenelated edge all around and much wider at the middle than at the sides. This is pair of matching bracelets. They are made with clasps on opposing sides, so they open from opposite sides. This Victorian style emerged in the last decade of the period as juxtapose to the lavish prevalent designs of the time. Cleaner lines, minimalistic in comparison the aesthetic movement that was spread mainly in UK and USA. Front of these bangles are usually very ornate and back is smooth.The clasp has good snap and it stays on. Very well preserved for all these years! Sterling silver, marked.
