Being offered is nice old antique Fijian Bowai club that would date to 19th century.  This club measures 31" from the lug at the end of the handle to the top of the club.  There are sections of carvings.  They each have top and bottom row of houndstooth type carving and then in the middle are rows of zig zag carving.  In addition to this there are areas where designs are carved around the club.  Each design has triangles each pointing in different direction.  All areas have the same designs and the same number around the club.  These appear to have been inlaid at one point in time but unfortunately all inlay is gone.  The club is brown in color with several age cracks and scuffed area in the carved section at the top.  There are other dings and signs of wear and use.  Nice solid club made from dense hardwood.  Please e-mail with any questions.  Please view my other auctions for great variety of swords, daggers, clubs and tribal art.
