Most exquisite antique Chinese solid brass cloisonne display plate.The beautiful plate has dragon and phoenix circling each other in the centre.The border has individually painted floral design on deep royal blue background.The back of the plate also has matching design to the teal blue bottom.The unusual design of this plate is made of raised gold wires giving the  design distinctive outline.If you look carefully there is lot of detail on this plate. It must have taken workman many hours to complete.Cloisonne is produced by soldering tiny gold or silver wires onto brass base. The design is then painstakingly filled with various coloured enamel. One layer at time with utmost control because too much or too little on each layer will have unfavourable result. It is then fired in the kiln. The process sometime can take several hundreds of layers to finish.Very good condition.
