9947 Oak Smokers Cabinet



Description
A late Victorian oak smokers cabinet dating around 1890.  It has pair of doors covering the whole front which open to reveal drawers, space for tobacco jar and pipe holders to one door interior.  The cabinet is set with metal mounts and there are period drawer handles to the interior.  The exterior is in rich medium oak tone, with the interior more golden oak colour.  The doors are quarter sawn (tiger oak) with the distinctive stripes. 

 Condition 
Normal wear and aging with some scratches, colour variation etc.  Lock works but is little sticky, comes with key and tassle.  Hinges, drawers and handles all working fine.  Metal mounts were probably silver plated, now worn through cleaning and with some age related corrosion.  See images for general exterior condition.
