~ Welcome to William Sharpe Antiques ~  Here today for your consideration we have incredible French Victorian clock and garniture set, crafted using high quality gilt metal and stunningly rich rouge marble, C-1870's. The clock itself was produced by one of the better quality makers of the time, Fritz Marti in Vieux-charmont (France), whilst the statue and candelabras were crafted by R. Lagneau of France, the main clock-topper titled "Surprise!". The set is in good condition for its age overall. There are couple of chips from the marble in places (see photos), and some mild fading to small sections of gilding. The five-light candelabras are complete, each featuring candle snuff sitting in the centre light. The beveled glass is in excellent order, and the enamel face shows some age crazing.  At the time of drafting this listing, the clock movement was running, but would run smoother with an overhaul. This piece was an estate purchase, and it's understood it hadn't been wound in quite some time. Included in the sale is the pendulum, bell and key. 
This incredible clock set would make an excellent statement piece for your period home, and will be admired for years to come. Pieces of this caliber are often sought, rarely found. 
In an antique shop, expect to pay $2,500 $5,000 for set like this. The asking price reflects the need for an overhaul to bring this clock back to life.
