The lid has lovely ArtNouveau design of angels/cherubs. The solid silver lid is hallmarked with thethe Lion Passant for Sterling Silver, an Anchor forthe Birmingham Assay centre, and the date letter for 1907. Themanufacturers mark is "S B". The lid fits the jarwell. It measures approximately 6.3cm in diameter, and weighs approximately 20g. It is an elegant piece and the silver lidis in very good condition considering its years of use and polishing. There are few small dents on the lid but nothing which detracts from its beautiful design. As is the case of many of these lids there is tiny pinhole where the repousse tool cut into it during the manufacturing process. However it is only noticeable if you hold the lid up to the light.The cut glass jar has height of 3cm, adiameter of 6.2cm and weighs 92g. The jar is in good condition buthas few minor scratches on the base due to age. can feel couple of tinyflea bites on the inner rim of the jar but they are barely visible to thenaked eye. It really is delightful pieceand would be lovely addition to any collection or indeed beautiful gift.
