Antique 19th Century Steel Chest Lock with Keeper and Key for sale
Very nice early chest lock, made from steel with the original key and keeper. This type of chest lock became popular in the mid 1800s and is still produced in some form or another today. This is an early style, with shaped keyhole and cast iron barrel key. The mechanism works well and the lock is sturdy, no loose springs, etc. The lock plate measures 1/2" wide by 2" tall with 9/16" selvedge.
