PAIR OF ANTIQUE CARVED WOOD WALL PANELS Up for auction is this pair of very old,  gorgeous, rare and unusual carved wood wall panels. am not an expert on these type of carvings but they are possible french and made from oak or fruitwood. The panels depict male and female holding what seems to be grapes or  a heart. They are also pointing down to plaque that may have had something carved into it but has been worn off. These impressive carvings could possible have come from church, and we carved by master wood worker of the time. Both panels are carved from single piece of wood. The approx age is 17th C. Both pieces show much wear consistent with age. There are some scuffs, cracks andnicks that all adds character and charm to these carvings.Such works of this type are never-endingsource of inspiration and beauty for our everyday lives, as beautiful work ofart, history and religion.  These panel have wonderful original dark patina typical of these earlycarved wood panels, and is not marked.Pleasehave good look at all the pictures of these marvelous carving as part of thedescription.AGE:17th C.SIZE: 24.5"(TALL) 4" (WIDE) 1.5"(THICK) INCHES
